Great white sharks have an endoskeleton. The great white shark is very heavily built compared to other sharks. The skeleton of the great white is shark is made mostly out of cartilage. Cartilage is flexible and durable and is half as dense as bone. This greatly reduces the skeletons weight allowing the great weight shark to save a lot of energy. Great white sharks have pointed snouts and have rounded, spindle shaped bodies. The great white shark has 2 dorsal fins and an anal fin. The first dorsal fin is large high and stiff while the other dorsal fin and anal fin are very small. The great white sharks caudal fin (tail) is extremely powerful allowing it to reach speeds up to 30 miles per hour. Great white sharks have extremely strong jaws and very large, sharp teeth.
